Located 15 minutes east of Brighton, our farm is home to registered Sable, Saanen, and Nubian goats, Jersey cows, free range chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, and our beloved guard llamas, Harlequin, Ziggy, and Andy. Our milk share program offers fresh, delicious raw goat and cow milk, handmade farmstead cheeses, yogurt, goat milk fudge, goat milk soap, fresh eggs, and seasonal vegetables.
We feed high quality grains and alfalfa, along with free range pasture to ensure that our shareholders get the best and safest products! We deliver to the Denver metro area, and Brighton weekly, our share program offers full, or half shares. We encourage you to schedule a farm visit, meet us and the “ladies,” sample our products, learn more about our way of life, taste the difference and come join the natural movement!

Description

Vinson Farms is a family owned and operated farm. We are located in the heart of Black Forest. We have been raising market sheep, 4-H market and breeding prospect lambs, farm raised poultry and eggs for over 15 years. This year we are proudly adding goat milk shares to our farm.
After losing our home and farm in the Black Forest fire in 2013. We are excited to have our home and farm rebuilt and to be moved back to our community here in Black Forest.
We are very excited to now be offering raw milk to our little farm. Looking forward to a wonderful new start and being able to grow our farm in a new product of raw milk.

Farm Type

Description

Vision Farms is our family farm in De Beque, CO, on the western slope near Grand Junction. We have a small, grass-fed herd of Jersey cows, Hereford, grass-fed beef cows, free-range brown eggs, and pastured chicken and turkey.

Our milk cows have year round pasture access, unless we have a lot of snow, and are supplemented with alfafa/grass hay, and get a small ration of oats, barley, dried molasses, kelp and garlic at milking time. We use apple-cider vinegar, grapefruit seed extract, Nutribiotic soap,  and essential oils for cleaning the teats, and as an after-milking teat dip. We only use medical intervention if the health of the cow is at stake, and then a long milk withdrawal time afterwards.

The health of our cows and the cleanliness of our milk is of utmost importance to us, as our 5 children drink this milk too. We hope we can serve you in the future!
